Taking Notes: Does It Really Help?

Often time-s students will wonder if it really works. There is no really right or wrong answer to this question. To be successful the student has to be in tune with their learning style. For some students with a more audio type of learning style it might be better to have a tape recorder or simply listen to the lecture. For most students note taking can be very beneficial.
The concern with note taking is that sometimes the students will miss information that is being given. For this reason the student would have to choose a method that is quick and easy. Shortening some of the words or having symbols for certain things is helpful. Focus on the important information when taking notes. Note taking is very helpful to the student when it comes to test taking. The teacher often times will give out information that will be on the test. The student will have all the information that they need to study for the test if note taking is done.
